Who we are
KidCart ("we," "us," or "our") operates the KidCart mobile application and the website at kidcart.app. Our mission is to make family shopping more fun and more organized — without compromising your privacy or security.

What we collect
We collect only what we need to make the app work:
- Email address — if you join our waitlist or create an account, so we can reach you
- App usage data — which features you use, swipe patterns (anonymized), crash reports
- Device info — operating system, app version, for bug fixes and compatibility
- Wishlist content — the products kids swipe on, so parents can review them
What we never collect
- Payment information — we never see your card number, billing address, or any payment data. All purchases go directly through Walmart, Amazon, Target, or whichever store you choose
- Children's personal data — kids use the app without creating accounts or providing personal information
- Location data — we don't track where you are
- Contacts or photos — we don't access your phone's contacts or camera roll
How we use your data
- To sync wishlists between kid and parent devices
- To send you updates about your waitlist status or account (you can opt out anytime)
- To fix bugs and improve the app
- To understand which features are most useful
We do not use your data to serve ads, build advertising profiles, or sell to data brokers.
Affiliate links & how we make money
KidCart is free for families. We earn a small affiliate commission from retail partners (like Walmart) when you complete a purchase through a KidCart-generated link. This commission is paid by the retailer — not by you — and does not affect the price you pay.
We are transparent about this relationship because we believe you should know how we keep the lights on.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The kid-facing side of KidCart does not collect personal information from children. Kids swipe on products without logging in or providing any personal details.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at hello@kidcart.app and we will delete it promptly.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share limited data with:
- Retail partners — only the product selections needed to build your cart. They receive this as a standard affiliate referral, not linked to your personal profile
- Service providers — companies that help us operate (hosting, analytics, email). They are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the safety of our users
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@kidcart.app. We'll process your request within 30 days.
Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure — if you have security concerns, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
We'll notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
